🔎 About the Role
This is a unique opportunity to join RIU Hotels & Resorts as a Commis I specializing in Maldivian Cuisine. In this role, you will contribute to delivering exceptional dining experiences by preparing authentic Maldivian dishes. You’ll work alongside a talented culinary team, showcasing your skills while learning and growing in a fast-paced environment that values creativity and precision.
💼 What You’ll Do
- Assist in the preparation and cooking of Maldivian specialty dishes and other International dishes with a focus on quality and authenticity.
- Ensure all dishes are presented to standards in taste, appearance, and consistency.
- Support the the team in daily kitchen operations, including mise en place and service readiness.
- Maintain cleanliness, organization, and hygiene in the kitchen at all times.
- Follow food safety standards and ensure proper handling and storage of ingredients.
- Collaborate with the team to develop and refine Maldivian specialty recipes.
- Take feedback constructively to improve skills and contribute to the success of the kitchen.
✔️ What We’re Looking For
- Previous experience as a Commis I or in a similar role, preferably with exposure to Maldivian cuisine.
- A strong passion for cooking and a keen interest in Maldivian culinary traditions.
- Basic knowledge of food preparation techniques, kitchen equipment, and safety standards.
- A team-oriented attitude with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality dishes.
- Willingness to learn, adapt, and take direction from senior chefs.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
- A proactive and positive approach to challenges with a desire to grow in the culinary field.
