🔎 About the Role
This is a unique opportunity to join RIU Hotels & Resorts as a Executive Chef, where you will play a key role in delivering the signature service and operational excellence that define RIU Sri Lanka.
In this role, you’ll thrive in a serene yet vibrant coastal setting, being part of a pioneering hotel that introduced the 24-Hour All-Inclusive concept to Asia.
💼 What You’ll Do
- Lead, mentor, and supervise all kitchen staff, fostering a culture of excellence, innovation, and inclusivity.
- Oversee daily culinary operations across multiple outlets and cuisines, ensuring consistent quality, presentation, and taste.
- Develop and execute diverse menus that blend international trends with local essence, supporting the property’s all-inclusive concept.
- Ensure strict adherence to RIU’s food safety, sanitation, and hygiene standards, maintaining compliance with all local regulations.
- Optimize kitchen inventories, control costs, and manage suppliers, while delivering on budget without compromising on quality.
- Collaborate with Food & Beverage leadership to enhance guest satisfaction, personalize experiences, and drive culinary innovation.
- Train, motivate, and coach team members, nurturing growth and fostering a positive, collaborative work environment.
- Support sustainability initiatives and responsible sourcing practices as part of RIU’s Proudly Committed strategy.
✔️ What We’re Looking For
- Education: Degree or diploma in Culinary Arts or Hospitality Management.
- Experience: Minimum 5 years in senior kitchen management roles within luxury hotels or large-volume upscale restaurants. International and all-inclusive experience is a plus.
- Skills: Proven leadership, training, and communication abilities in culturally diverse teams. Strong financial acumen and attention to food cost management.
- Certifications: Up-to-date food safety, HACCP, or equivalent certifications.
- Personal Attributes: Creativity, adaptability, organizational excellence, and a passion for culinary innovation. Professional proficiency in English required; additional languages are a benefit.
