🔎 About the Role
This is an excellent opportunity to join RIU Hotels & Resorts as an Assistant Housekeeping Manager. You will support the Head of Housekeeping in delivering exceptional cleanliness, comfort, and presentation across guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces. Working closely with a multicultural team, you will help maintain RIU’s high standards of service while driving operational efficiency and fostering a culture of pride and teamwork.
💼 What You’ll Do
Operational Support: Assist in planning, coordinating, and supervising daily housekeeping operations for guest rooms, corridors, public areas, and laundry to ensure consistent standards of cleanliness and presentation.
Team Leadership: Lead, coach, and motivate housekeeping attendants and supervisors. Provide clear briefings, monitor performance, and maintain an engaged, high-performing team through recognition and constructive feedback.
Quality Assurance: Conduct regular inspections and line checks of rooms and public areas, identify improvement opportunities, and ensure corrective actions are implemented immediately to meet RIU’s standards.
Training & Development: Support induction and ongoing training programs focusing on cleaning techniques, guest etiquette, safety, and use of cleaning equipment and chemicals to maintain a skilled and compliant team.
Inventory & Stock Control: Assist with ordering, receiving, and controlling housekeeping supplies, linen, and amenities. Implement measures to minimize waste and optimize stock levels while maintaining quality.
Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure full compliance with hygiene, safety, and environmental procedures, including proper handling of chemicals, equipment maintenance, and reporting of hazards or incidents.
Guest Relations: Respond promptly and professionally to guest requests and feedback, coordinating with Front Office and Maintenance to resolve issues and enhance overall guest satisfaction.
Reporting & Administration: Maintain accurate daily logs, handover notes, and departmental records. Assist with payroll, scheduling, and performance documentation as required.
✔️ What We’re Looking For
Relevant Experience: Previous experience in housekeeping supervision within hotels or resorts, preferably in a 4- or 5-star environment or high-volume property.
Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead a diverse team, manage rotas, and maintain motivation and standards during busy periods.
Quality Focus: Strong attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining high housekeeping standards and delivering exceptional guest experiences.
Communication: Clear verbal and written communication skills in English; additional languages are an advantage.
Organizational Ability: Skilled at multitasking, prioritizing, and working under pressure while maintaining accuracy in administrative duties.
Health & Safety Knowledge: Understanding of cleaning chemicals, PPE, and safety protocols. Certification or training in hygiene or housekeeping practices is desirable.
Customer Service Orientation: A professional, friendly approach with a genuine desire to enhance guest satisfaction and handle requests tactfully.
