Location: RIU Turquoise and RIU Palace Mauritius, Le Morne.

🔎 About the Role

As a Commis III, you will support the kitchen team in preparing high-quality food while maintaining excellent standards of hygiene, safety, and service. You will assist with food preparation, keep work areas organized, and contribute to smooth daily kitchen operations in a fast-paced resort environment.

🌟 What You’ll Do

• Assist chefs and kitchen team members with daily food preparation and basic cooking tasks.

• Prepare ingredients such as vegetables, meats, seafood, sauces, and garnishes according to established recipes and standards.

• Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, kitchen equipment, storage areas, and service areas.

• Follow food safety, sanitation, and personal hygiene standards at all times.

• Support buffet, restaurant, banquet, and other food production operations as assigned.

• Store food items correctly and monitor product quality, freshness, and labeling.

• Assist with receiving, checking, and organizing kitchen supplies and deliveries.

• Use kitchen tools and equipment safely and responsibly.

• Minimize food waste and follow portion control and cost-control procedures.

• Work cooperatively with colleagues across the kitchen and Food & Beverage Department.

• Perform other reasonable duties assigned by the Chef or Kitchen Supervisor.

✔️ What We’re Looking For

• Previous experience in a hotel, restaurant, catering, or commercial kitchen is preferred.

• Basic knowledge of food preparation, cooking methods, and kitchen hygiene.

• Ability to follow recipes, instructions, and food safety procedures accurately.

• Positive attitude, willingness to learn, and strong teamwork skills.

• Good time management and the ability to work efficiently under pressure.

• Physical ability to stand for extended periods and safely handle kitchen equipment and supplies.

• Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, holidays, and varying schedules based on business needs.

• Basic English communication skills are an advantage.
